George (Ellen Muth) can spell better than the kids in the spelling bee. She is there with Mason (Collum Blue) because someone is to die. The moderator (Dean Paul Gibson) falls on a paper-spike and dies. Rube (Mandy Patinkin) knows that Daisy has a boyfriend and doesn’t like her getting involved with living people. Her boyfriend Ray (Eric McCormack) shows up at the Waffle Haus and Rube despises him on sight. He gives Ray the third degree and dismisses him. George’s Mom (Cynthia Stevenson) is going out for a job. She shows up at Happy Time and Delores (Christine Willes) interviews her, recognizing her name, and realizes she is George’s mother. She says that George was smart, difficult, and promising. Mom’s resumé impresses Delores. Mom says she likes files, boxes, and labels. Daisy and Mason go to a boxing club to reap the soul of an elderly trainer (Ron Small). Ray shows up and ends up in the ring with Mason. He beats the crap out of Mason.
Rube and George go to a hospital to reap someone, which turns out to be Nina Rommey (Piper Laurie), an elderly woman with dementia who can’t remember anything. There are labels all over her room with notes containing identifying pictures of her daughter, husband, etcetera. There is a nurse there named Penny (Yeardley Smith, who was the voice of Lisa Simpson) who is a reaper and they see her reaping a man in a wheelchair. From her, Rube gets information about his long-lost daughter in a long-term care-centre and he leaves. Nina wanders about, takes everybody else’s meds and dies. George reaps her but she doesn’t realize she’s dead and won’t come along. Mason and Daisy join George and the three of them act out skits about death which Nina finds entertaining but can’t understand that they apply to her. But when she realizes she can’t touch anything, George puts her name on a post-it note and slaps it on her dead body, lying in the bed. Nina disappears.
George’s Mom is labelling and organizing everything in her pantry. A neighbor (Patti Allen) comes in to complain about the dog crapping on her prize flowers and is impressed with Mom’s organizing skills. She offers to pay her to organize her own pantry. Mom wants seventy-five dollars for it and the woman agrees readily. Mom has a job. Daisy and Mason come back to the apartment to find Ray there. He confronts them and Daisy rejects him, whereupon Ray grabs her and starts choking her. Mason beats him to death with a silver tray and as they look down on the body, trying to figure out what to do now, a Graveling crawls out of Ray’s body and runs off. Mason buries the body in the back yard.
