Delenn (Mira Furlan) speaks to the League of Non-Aligned Worlds. A large force is needed to attack the Shadows. The aliens are reluctant because Delenn will not divulge the details of the plan, lest the Shadows learn of it. She promises Minbari war-cruisers to protect them. John Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner) briefs Ivanova (Claudia Christian) and Marcus Cole (Jason Carter). He sends them on a scout mission in the White Star to a sector where the Shadows are active. Delenn finds the League chamber empty except for the Drazi. The others have gone to speak to their governments, but he is to tell her they will provide all the ships they can spare.
Garibaldi (Jerry Doyle) worries about Doctor Franklin. In Downbelow, Franklin meets a deaf girl. On the White Star, Ivanova and Marcus talk about the Minbari language. As an example, he says she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, but she doesn’t know what he said. Delenn informs Sheridan that they have many ships, but the League is still holding back. After the battle, Delenn will perform a Minbari courting ritual in which she will watch Sheridan sleep in order to see his true face. Franklin comes upon two thugs beating up a man. He is stabbed, and both the thugs and the dealer they were beating run away.
A Shadow scout ship is detected by the White Star. It flees and the White Star pursues. The Non-Aligned fleet waits in hyperspace. Franklin, seriously wounded, finds himself at last and carries on an abusive conversation with himself. The White Star destroys the Shadow scout, but its jump-engines are damaged. The Shadow fleet arrives and Ivanova sends a warning, despite giving away the White Star’s position. The Non-Aligned fleet jumps in and the telepaths jam the Shadow vessels. Sheridan directs the battle. The White Star is repaired and joins in. Many ships on both sides are destroyed. Franklin, bleeding, crawls to get help. The Shadows retreat. Franklin is in Medlab, delirious. The Non-Aligned fleet returns to Babylon Five, but how long before the Shadows come after them?
Franklin tells Garibaldi he found himself but didn’t like himself much. Sheridan, Delenn, and Ivanova wonder why they are being left alone by the Shadows. Sheridan recalls dreams he had since the death of Kosh. Delenn thinks they reveal that there is an equal opposite to Sheridan. Franklin is back working in Medlab. A woman comes to the station and is recognized. As Delenn is watching over a sleeping Sheridan, his supposedly dead wife Anna Sheridan (Melissa Gilbert) walks in, somehow returned from Za’ha’dum.
Melissa Gilbert, of Little House on the Prairie fame, was actually Bruce Boxleitner’s wife at the time. In a previous vision, Sheridan saw Ivanova with a raven on her shoulder; here he sees Garibaldi with a dove on his—whatever that means. The next episode is titled Za’ha’dum, and it is the last episode of Season Three, Point of No Return.
