George (Ellen Muth) was never on time in her life, even to be born. The Reapers meet in a crowded Waffle Haus and get their assignments. George has to deal with an efficiency expert at Happy Time, who times their bathroom breaks. Delores (Christine Willes) has a mole at the head office who gives her a heads up when trouble is coming. George manages to arrange everything so that the efficiency guy is impressed. But to him, efficiency means less time wasted talking to your fellow employees. In the end, only one guy named Fred is fired, but he was the one who was funny and likable.
Daisy (Laura Harris) is sent to a 2-minute date-a-thon speed-dating service, where she is to reap a guy whose first name starts with a J. No-one has a last name on his tag. She manages to interrogate each of them in two minutes (though she is admonished not to brow-beat them) and finally finds the guy, named James Allen. Trouble is, he’s the only one who’s really nice but no-one writes down his name and he goes to jump off the roof. She meets him there. He had decided not to jump but slips and falls.
Mason is following somebody who owes him money, but he’s a bike messenger and Mason nearly kills himself (if he wasn’t already dead), trying to catch up to him. Roxy (Jasmine Guy) waits for somebody at the luggage rondavel at the airport. She admires a very patient luggage guy. But a very impatient and arrogant French woman climbs up the luggage chute to get her bag and it kills her. All the way through the episode, there are glimpses of an impatient ass-hole trying to get to the airport.
George’s Mom (Cynthia Stevenson) is rushing off to a meeting with her divorce lawyer. Dad (Greg Lean) shows up late and signs the papers but brings Reggie’s (Britt McKillup) band-uniform. Mom has to convince Reggie to wear it at marching band practice. She hates it because George would never have worn it. Hanging out all day at the Post Office, Rube (Mandy Patinkin) discovers that a mistake the Post Office made meant that money he sent to his late wife and daughter never arrived. They probably thought he had skipped out on them. George’s reap is the frustrated ass-hole that has been popping up now and then, yelling into his phone and rushing to get to the airport. He steps out of his car and is hit by a bus.
