George (Ellen Muth) is not a joiner. Mason (Callum Blue) says that if he wasn’t dead, he’d be dead. Mason and Roxie (Jasmine Guy) are given tickets to Cancun on T. and A. Airline with their post-it notes and think they’re going on vacation. On the plane, Mason is dazzled by the scantily clad party-girl stewardesses—Misty and Sparkle. He’s not a good flyer and is already half in the bag. One of them is Roxie’s reap. There are a couple of newly-weds, and the guy is Mason’s reap. He’s allergic to peanuts and the stewardess eats them before the groom grabs her and kisses her in the toilet. There is a big fight and the flight is cancelled.
George’s grandmother (Barbara Barrie) and George’s Mom (Cynthia Stevenson) are constantly fighting. Grandma cooks whole-grain bread for George’s sister, tells her about being in jail for threatening Richard Nixon, and Mom scolds her for bragging about being in jail to her granddaughter. Don’t take it out on me, says Grandma, I’m not the one having an affair with your husband. The girl is going to school today but will have an adventure with Grandma later. At school, one of the kids shows up with what he claims to be a Komodo Dragon, named Frodo, in a box. Though it’s actually a Nile Monitor Lizard. The young boy who reaps animals (Spencer Achtymichuk) shows up too. And Rube (Mandy Patinkin) appears with Daisy (Laura Harris) because Rube has to reap the school custodian.
George goes to the classy Montgomery Golf Club and meets the name on her posit-it, T. Heseberg Jr. (Robin Dunne). He sits down with her, obviously attracted to her, and they bond immediately. They play cards. He hates the Country Club as much as she does, and he likes to read obituaries, which she reads all the time. He invites her to dinner, and she suddenly kisses him. Then she meets his father, (Tom Butler) who is actually Junior since his son is Hesberg III. She shakes his hand a reaps his soul. A Graveling starts a golf-car and Dad, trying to stop it from running down a woman, is hit by a golf-club and dies. George stands with the old man’s soul, watching his son, Trip, try to revive him, and she promises she’ll look after the boy. Good, he says, I can tell he really likes you.
At the school, Rube pretends to be a substitute teacher and his laconic manner is not very teacher-like. What do these animals have in common? They’re mammals, and they all die. Everything dies. The kid does a report on the Komodo Dragon, and a Graveling breaks it out of its cage. The kids freak out and it runs through the halls. Rube reaps the custodian just before he trips over the lizard and breaks his neck on the stairs. Reggie sees the child reaper leaving and runs after him. He doesn’t go to school. What does he do? He’s a dragon-slayer. He knows about George, the girl that was killed by the toilet seat. George calls home and her grandmother answers. George says it was a wrong number, but we get the distinct impression that Grandma knew who it was.
